Rhema
celebrates Administrative Professionals'
Day

Rhema’s three administrative professionals
were officially thanked for their care
and hard work this week.
Wednesday was Administrative Professionals’
Day, formerly known as Secretaries’
Day. Rena Ridley, Joanne Brethour
and Karen Haagsma were treated to
lunch and flowers by Principal Ray
Hendriks.
Rena says they weren’t surprised
because Ray does this every year.
She also points out at Rhema they
are treated well all year round. "Something
that is probably unique to our school
is that we are not treated as office
staff separate from everyone else.
We’re considered an equal part
of the team, along with the teachers
and principals."
Ray says he makes the special effort
to recognize the three women on Administrative
Professionals’ Day because they
often tend to go unnoticed. "It’s
nice to highlight their work in the
school," he says.
Rena has been involved with the school
for 25 years, Joanne for 15 years
and Karen for three.
"I think the best of part of
my work here is being part of a community
that is so caring and supportive,"
says Rena. "The kids at the school
are so much fun and some of the greatest
kids in Peterborough."
